David is originally from the northeast and was raised in western Pennsylvania. He studied photography at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, and has been based in Los Angeles for the past twenty years. Currently his east coast base is Pittsburgh. He also spends time in rural New Mexico. He has a broad range of experience but concentrates on making compelling environmental portraits. Many clients have commented on his ability to develop an affinity with a wide variety of subjects, translating that connection into intimate and memorable imagery.

David travels frequently and explores countries and cultures with his camera and his heart. He is an avid reader, particularly when it comes to subjects related to history, geopolitics, Central Asia, and the Middle East. He enjoys cooking, the outdoors, motorcycles, spending time with family and friends, and contemplating the world alongside his dogs.
